OTHER INTERN INFORMATION

  • Thrive interns have completed their master’s degree coursework and are in the last stages of their training, prior to receiving their license as a clinical counsellor or provisional psychologist.

  • Thrive interns are closely supervised by experienced counsellors and clinical supervisors

  • While most insurance plans do not cover student interns, there are some plans that do offer intern coverage, under the supervision of a clinical counsellor. Please check with your individual provider and plan. Direct billing is not available for student interns

  • Thrive offers Jordan’s Principle Indigenous counselling coverage will all of our therapists (please call regarding this option)

Well met, traveller! My name is Andi (they/them), and I am a Master’s Clinical Intern looking to be a guide in your exploration of your inner selves. I have over 7 years of experience teaching junior high Fine Arts and English, and 5 years of teaching high school theatre. Through my work as an educator, I have journeyed alongside many teens with a wide variety of backgrounds and lived experiences including neurodiversity, faith-questioning, gender affirmation, and more.

Here at Thrive, my goal is to help you find a soft place to land either one-on-one, with your family, or in a community. I have been part of many GSA spaces, DND campaigns, anime conventions, and the kickboxing ring. I know what it’s like to be an outcast and how to build resiliency and hope in the face of challenges and fear.

Working with me means finding safety with someone who truly sees the best in you and accepts the parts you’d rather no one sees. You will sit with someone who is genuinely curious about your whole story, all the chapters that came to this moment and what’s in store for the next few pages.

Whatever your goals are, even if you don’t know them yet, I am honored to be invited to be with you on your quest as a thoughtful side character who is willing to take risks, make mistakes, and ultimately always has your back.

No one will ever know you the way you know you, and I can’t wait for us to get to know all of the different parts of you together.
