REMY
Registered CLINICAL COUNSELlor & Art TherapisT
Children, Teens, Young Adults & Families
Hello! My name is Remy and I’m a Canadian Certified Counsellor, specializing in Art Therapy. I work with children, teens, young adults, and families who are seeking a different way to explore and express emotions. Art therapy provides a unique means of communication that goes beyond words to help those who often have difficulty opening up.
I truly care about my clients’ well-being and hope to bring art therapy services that promote growth, change, and wellness. I believe in whole-person care, and I wish to provide a safe haven where creativity and self-exploration can flourish to address emotional, behavioural, social, and psychological issues. Therapy is sought-out for a number of reasons, but it is my belief that anyone can benefit from feeling truly seen and heard.
My art therapy practice can be tailored to address the unique concerns and the difficulties you, your child or teen is facing. With children, I largely specialize in anxiety, anger, depression, boundary development and family/home life instability. My work with teens primarily focuses on delinquency, behaviour management, social skills, anxiety and general coping. With young adults, my work is centred around stress management, self-reflection, grief and loss, and general coping.
Finally, my work with families focuses on behaviour management, family and home life instability, and grief and loss. I am also particularly adept at helping children and youth with selective mutism.
My experience is varied through schools, community resources spaces, in-patient centres, and private practice. I have worked with kids, teens, adults, and seniors in a capacity that is always judgement-free, culturally sensitive, developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed, and attachment-based.
When I’m not facilitating art therapy I love trying new restaurants, spending time outdoors and with animals, making the most of every holiday and occasion, and spending time alone reading, puzzling, and crafting.
I look forward to walking alongside you on your art therapy journey!
