Hello!
Hello! My name is Myah, and I’m very passionate about supporting children, teens, and families as they navigate life’s challenges and work toward growth and healing.
My journey in the mental health field began several years ago at Alberta Hospital Edmonton, where I’ve had the privilege and opportunity to work with a wide range of individuals and families. During my time there as a psychiatric aide, I’ve supported clients in acute psychiatric care, forensic care, psychiatric rehabilitation, and several youth programs including PChAD, Stabilization, and Recovery.
Alongside this, I currently work as a Child and Youth Development Specialist at the Royal Alexandra Hospital and Glenrose Hospital on several child psych units. In this role, I focus on helping youth in acute and transitionary care, and assist them in developing coping skills, building confidence, emotional regulation skills, and strengthening overall emotional and social well-being in hospital and community settings.
Before starting my career in mental health, i was also a NCAA Division 1 and USports soccer player at the University of Memphis and Grant MacEwan. My athletic experience has taught me the importance of mental resilience, teamwork, and self belief — values that now shape my approach to counselling and my understanding of how our mindset can shape and influence performance and well-being.
When I’m not working, you can usually find me hiking, painting/drawing, playing soccer, travelling, or anything that gets my adrenaline going! Staying active and connecting with nature is a big part of how I recharge and maintain balance in my own life — something I also encourage in the youth and families I support!
As I continue my journey toward becoming a registered psychologist, I remain committed to providing care that is person centred, trauma-informed, and strength-based. My goal is also to create a safe and non-judgemental space where children, teens, and families feel supported and empowered to grow.
