Thrive interns have completed their master’s degree coursework and are in the last stages of their training, prior to receiving their license as a clinical counsellor or provisional psychologist
Thrive interns are closely supervised by experienced counsellors and clinical supervisors
While most insurance plans do not cover student interns, there are some plans that do offer intern coverage, under the supervision of a clinical counsellor. Please check with your individual provider and plan.
Direct billing is not available for student interns
Thrive also offers Jordan’s Principle Indigenous counselling coverage with several therapists

Hello!
My name is Katelin, and I am a Registered Social Worker. I have completed a Bachelor of Social Work at Memorial University of Newfoundland and am currently in the final stages of completing a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University.
I have experience working with youth and young adults and am passionate about creating a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, respected, and supported. I believe that therapy works best when it feels authentic and collaborative, and I strive to meet people where they are as they navigate life’s many challenges and work towards their goals.
I work in the areas of substance use, addictions, family relationships, trauma, emotional regulation and supporting both children and teens in their mental health.
I draw from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I enjoy supporting youth and young adults in navigating challenges with emotional regulation, self-esteem, anxiety, healthy relationships, and life changes and transitions.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my corgi, Winnie. I am also a big fan of collecting plants, farmers' markets, reading a good book, watching Netflix, traveling, and going to concerts.
