Hello, my name is Blythe. I am a certified Canadian counselor and I have a Master’s of education degree in counselling psychology with a specialization in addiction and mental health. I have worked in the field for almost 15 years and most recently in the education sector, working as a counselor to grades K to 12, then as a mental health therapist for post secondary students.

As a counsellor, I specialize in trauma informed care and am trained in Attachment Focused EMDR (through the Parnell Institute). I am client-centered in my approach, where I believe empathy, non-judgment, and safety are the building blocks to creating healthy therapeutic relationships.

I also follow existentialism as a counselling philosophy and have a deep interest in life changes and transitions. Seeking understanding from the client’s perspective and lending support in making rational decisions gives the client autonomy and promotes self-awareness. (e.i. Moving to a new city, graduating high school and attending post-secondary, etc).

I am an indigenous woman from the Blackfoot territory in southern Alberta and have a passion for working with indigenous youth and young adults. I use anti-racist practices and intersectionality. Some area of my area of interests include: gender affirming care, LGBTQ2+, ADHD in women and girls, ADHD/neurodiversity, anxiety, depression, self harm, substance use/abuse, suicide assessments, threat assessment, school based issues, and healthy relationships/intimate partner violence.

When I am not counselling, I love to travel and to spend time with my dog and cat, Fredo and Judy. I also enjoy live music, horror movies, True Crime podcasts, and collecting mugs. I love nature, but not winter and exploring new cities.

I look forward to meeting with you!
